Amid huge political drama, Uttarakhand CM Trivendra Singh Rawat on Tuesday resigned. He gave his resignation to Governor Baby Rani Maurya today.
With rumour mills buzzing around with party workers expressing their disappointment at the Chief minister’s style of functioning and poor performance, the Uttarakhand CM had to submit his resignation today.
“The BJP gave me the golden opportunity to serve as CM for four years. I was born in a small village. Only BJP gives so much respect and opportunity to someone who belongs to a simple family from a small village,” ex-CM Rawat said.
Trivendra Singh Rawat expressed to mediapersons that he was grateful to the Bhartiya Janata Party for giving him the “golden opportunity” to serve the people for four long years.
It was a unanimous decision that I should move the baton to someone else now. I want to thank the citizens of the state for giving me a chance to serve,” he said.
Trivendra Singh Rawat told the media that the BJP legislature would meet at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at the party headquarters. All the BJP MLAs are going to be there, he said.
