Actress Saayoni Ghosh has been declared a candidate for the West Bengal Assembly election of the Trinamool Congress from Asansol South in 2021. The election will be held over eight phases on 27 March and the results will be announced on 2 May.
Actress Saayoni Ghosh is the same person who was slapped on the social media for humiliating Hindu God Lord Shiva.
The actress tweeted an image on February 18, 2015 where the actress placed a condom on a Shivling of Hindu God. “Gods couldn’t be more helpful,” she wrote. Her tweet maligning Hindu culture was posted on the auspicious occasion of Maha Shivaratri, which was observed on February 17 that year.
Afterwards, Saayoni Ghosh apologized for having hacked her account. The move was perceived as total ignorance of the Hindu feelings on the part of Mamata Banerjee and the Trinamool Congress after her candidacy from Asansol South was announced.
