YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra accused of spying for Pakistan, investigation into Odisha connection underway

Famous YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra has been arrested on charges of spying for Pakistan. As per the allegations, her video content and social media content contained sensitive information of the Indian Army and strategic locations. After the arrest, intelligence agencies have become active and now Odisha’s connection has also come to light in this case.

Odisha YouTuber Priyanka Senapati has been questioned under a joint investigation by the Intelligence Bureau (IB) and Puri Police. The investigation has revealed that Jyoti had visited Puri in September 2024, where she recorded pictures and videos of important government and religious places, which are of suspicious nature.

During interrogation, Priyanka Senapati clarified that she had only a professional relationship with Jyoti on YouTube and was unaware of any of her illegal activities. She also publicly stated on social media that if she had known about Jyoti’s spying activities, she would not have kept in touch with her. Priyanka has assured full cooperation in the investigation.

The episode highlights the new modus operandi of espionage through social media. According to security agencies, Jyoti and her associates have passed on sensitive information to Pakistan using digital means. Security officials are now keeping a close watch on content creators who use high-tech cameras and drones in public places.

The investigation is no longer limited to Haryana or Odisha, but operations are underway at various places to reach the root of this conspiracy. The communication, data sharing and social media activities between the two YouTubers are being thoroughly investigated. Security agencies have increased surveillance at Puri, Bhubaneswar and other tourist destinations where suspicious activities of foreign nationals are likely.
