BJP leader Pramod Sawant will today take oath as the Chief Minister of Goa for the second consecutive term. The swearing-in ceremony will be held at the Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium near Panaji at 11.00 am.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and other dignitaries will attend the oath ceremony. More than ten thousand people are expected to be present in the program. He first became the Chief Minister in March 2019 after the death of Manohar Parrikar.
In Goa assembly elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party won 20 seats, one short of the majority in the forty-member house. Three independents and two MLAs of Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party have extended support to the BJP to form the government.
