Be prepared for many obstacles ahead of Tokyo Olympic 2021: Manpreet

Keeping the fast-evolving COVID-19 situation in mind, Indian men’s team captain Manpreet Singh says his side will got to be “mentally prepared” for the several obstacles it’d face on its thanks to the Tokyo Olympics.

Pushed back by a year thanks to the pandemic, the quadrennial sporting extravaganza is slated to be held in July-August.

“The biggest learning from last year was to not let external factors affect our goal. There might be many uncertainties but we’d like to only worry about what’s within our control which is to figure towards being our greatest.

“There might be several challenges leading up to the Olympic Games this year and that we got to be mentally prepared for it,” Manpreet said, putting things into perspective.

With only 200 days to travel for the Olympics, Manpreet and Rani, the women’s team skipper, believe the players in respective core groups will need to give their 100 per cent to be ready to achieve their goals in Tokyo.

“The next 200 days goes to be the foremost important period of our lives. all folks need to give our 100 per cent in training and in competition if we would like to ascertain ourselves make the Indian Team for Tokyo,” stated the midfielder

Rani agreed that within the next few months the players will got to up their game altogether aspects.

“In the previous national camp which lasted over four months, we’ve really worked hard to succeed in the extent we were previously at. within the next few months, our focus are going to be on improving further altogether aspects of the sport .

“Our competitions this year will show us where we stand and what must be improved. From here on, all folks need to work on being the simplest ,” said Rani, a Khel Ratna awardee.

She stated that players shouldn’t take their place within the team without any consideration and that they will need to showcase that they’re indeed the simplest to form the cut.
