The Taliban administration in Afghanistan has imposed a nationwide ban on girls attending universities. 

A spokesman for the Ministry of Education of Afghanistan said that the cabinet meeting decided to ban women’s education in the university and this order will come into force with immediate effect.

The Taliban order comes at a time when thousands of women and girls are due to take university exams in less than three months and many are dreaming of becoming teachers and doctors.

In the United Nations Security Council meeting on Afghanistan in New York, America and Britain have condemned this decision of Taliban. Following the country’s takeover by radical Islamists in August last year, universities were forced to implement new rules including separate classes and admissions based on gender, while women are only allowed to be taught by female professors or older men. Was.
