Omicron B A.4, a new form of corona infection, has been confirmed for the first time in China. Lockdown has been imposed in many places in the capital Beijing after the corona infection increased again earlier this month.
According to a survey by China’s Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Omicron B.A.4 was confirmed in a person on May 4 in Guangzhou. This person arrived in China from the Netherlands, who had been fully immunized and had been in isolation for 14 days before reaching China. Chinese officials have described the situation of corona infection in many cities as serious.
Due to increasing infection, China had to decide to withdraw from hosting the AFC football tournament to be held in the year 2023.
