India on Tuesday provided financial assistance of $100 million to Maldives to deal with the economic challenges being faced by it. A ceremony was held here at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in which the Foreign Minister of this country located in the Indian Ocean region, Abdullah Shahid and Finance Minister Ibrahim Amir were also present.
In Maldives, the Ministry of External Affairs tweeted, “Government of India handed over financial assistance of $100 million to the Government of Maldives to meet the financial challenges.” India remains an authentic country in providing assistance to Maldives.
Foreign Minister Shahid thanked India for this help.
Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra visited Male last month where he met Maldivian Defense Minister Maria Didi and discussed ways to strengthen defense cooperation between the two countries.
