World famous sand artist Sudarshan Pattnaik created on Thursday the world’s largest Santa Claus sculpture on Puri Beach with the aid of his students studying at the Sudarshan Sand Art Institute. Pattnaik is all set to smash in order to join the Limca Book of Records with the giant Santa Claus measuring 45 feet high and 50 feet wide.
Officially, it is still not known if Pattnaik created the largest sand art to break the Guinness world record of Ted Siebert of the United States, who created the highest sand castle of 45 foot 10.25 inches.
But Indian Sand Artist’s efforts are ongoing to bring this piece of work to the global stage on which Guinness World Record boys have to test in depth.
On Thursday Pattnaik tweeted where he said, “I am trying to create world’s tallest sand #SantaClaus for #Christmas @Puribeach, India. I hope for a #worldrecord”.

The sand artist has been working overtime since Tuesday to meet the deadline of Christmas eve. The job was completed in less than three days.
Pattnaik’s eight creations have already been entered in the Limca Boo of records in different categories.
Two years ago Pattnaik had sculpted a 35 feet high and 75 feet wide sand Jesus Christ with the help of 1,000 tonnes of sand. The work was completed with the help of 25 students of his Institute which took three days to complete the work.
Patnaik is a world-renowned artist from Orrisa, who has been awarded Padma Shri by the Indian Government in 2014.
