Manufacture of more than five lakh AK-203 rifles in Amethi, Uttar Pradesh

To promote self-reliance in the defense sector, the government has approved to start production of more than five lakh AK-203 rifles at Korwa in Amethi district of Uttar Pradesh.

This initiative reflects the paradigm of Make in India buying and selling in the defense sector. Our correspondent has quoted sources as saying that the rifles will be produced in partnership with Russia and this also reflects the growing partnership between the two countries in the defense sector.

This project will increase business and create new employment opportunities for supply of raw materials and other materials to small, micro and medium enterprises and other industries related to defense production.
