The Pakistan Cricket Board has opposed the hosting of this year’s Asia Cup in Sri Lanka and may seriously consider pulling out of the continental tournament if the Asian Cricket Council does not accept its proposal.
He said, “Sethi rejected the concerns put forward by the BCCI to the ACC that September is too hot in the UAE as the BCCI had organized the IPL from September to November in 2020 in the UAE itself.”
On the other hand, the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has decided that the Asia Cup 2023 will now be organized out of Pakistan. Handing over the responsibility of hosting the Asia Cup to the original host country was being considered from the time Jay Shah created a sensation last year by saying that the Indian team would not travel to Pakistan for the tournament.
