Absolutely no incidents of terrorism in the hinterland of the country last year: Government

The Central Government has said that in the year 2020, there was absolutely no incidents of terrorism in the interior areas of the country. In reply to a question in Lok Sabha, Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai said that due to the efforts and firm action of the Narendra Modi-led government, there has been a drastic reduction in terrorist incidents and Left Extremism in the hinterland of the country.

He said that there has been a 70 percent decline in Left Extremism attacks and violence in 2020 as compared to 2019. He said that in 2010, 95 districts of the country were affected by Left Extremism. He said that in 2021 also the number of LWE affected districts has seen a further reduction of 25 percent.
