Uttarakhand’s Tourism and Culture Minister Satpal Maharaj has said that all tourist places in the state are safe except Joshimath. He said that the government would make every possible effort to organize winter sports in Auli. Maharaj also said that the upcoming Char Dham Yatra will be done in a smooth manner. He said that Char Dham Yatra and winter tourism were the backbone of the State’s economy.

He also said that all possible help is being provided to the disaster affected people in Joshimath by the Central and State Government. State Disaster Management Secretary Ranjit Kumar Sinha has said that the work of leveling and mapping the land for the construction of pre-fabricated buildings in Dhak village of Joshimath has been started.

He said that if necessary, the affected people could be kept in the MLA Hostel of Bharari Sain. The Disaster Management Secretary said that the number of buildings with cracks in Joshimath has not increased. Till now cracks have been found in 863 houses. Nine hundred and thirty three members of 218 families have been displaced from there.
