Former Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in New Delhi yesterday. His party Punjab Lok Congress has also merged with BJP. Along with Amarinder Singh, former Lok Sabha MP Amrik Singh Aliwal, former Speaker of Punjab Legislative Assembly Ajaib Singh Bhatti have also joined the BJP.
He said that he has been in politics for 52 years. Punjab is a border state, where the threat of Pakistani drones is increasing continuously. Drugs, weapons and money are being sent through drones to spread chaos in the state and it is coming inside 42-43 km of our border.
Amarinder Singh further said that BJP is the only political party which is strengthening national security and hence he decided to merge his party with BJP. Speaking on the occasion, senior party leader and Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said that with Amarinder Singh joining the BJP, the party’s base in Punjab will be strengthened.
