The cost of this deal is also quite significant. The per unit price of the F-35A ranges from around $80 million to $110 million for the F-35C, and the cost per flight hour is estimated to be $36,000. Despite this cost, the F-35 is considered to be without alternative in the near future, and despite its criticism, it is being adopted as a vital defense system. It will certainly help strengthen India’s air strike capability and give it an increasing role in the international security scenario.
