Chandrayaan-3 will attempt a soft landing on the south pole of the Moon at around 6.04 pm on Wednesday.

Indian Space Research Organisation- ISRO’s ambitious mission, Chandrayaan-3 is scheduled to land on the South Pole of the Moon on Wednesday at around 6.45 pm. According to ISRO, this historic event will be broadcast live on its website, official YouTube channel and Facebook page and on DD National on August 23 at 5.27 pm.

Earlier this morning, ISRO informed that Chandrayaan-3’s lander module consisting of lander ‘Vikram’ and rover ‘Pragyan’ has been successfully modified in its orbit and with this the vehicle can now reach a maximum distance of 134 km from the Moon. kms and the minimum distance has been reduced to 25 kms.

ISRO said in a post on the social media platform X (Twitter) that now the lander will be internally checked and will wait till the sun rises at the landing site. On August 23, at 6:04 pm, an attempt will be made to soft land from the lowest distance i.e. 25 km height.

If Chandrayaan successfully lands on the Moon’s surface on schedule, India will become the first country in the world to land a vehicle on the Moon’s south pole and the fourth country to send a successful mission to the Moon.
