If Rahul Gandhi is not ready to take over the reins, then what will be the alternative? Party sources say that there is a churning going on within the Congress about these options that if Rahul Gandhi is not ready, then a trusted leader of the Gandhi family should be given the command or Sonia Gandhi would have taken the responsibility of the post of president till the next Lok Sabha elections. Stay.
As per the pre-decided schedule, the process for the election of the Congress President is to begin from August 21 and be completed by September 20. On the other hand, Congress Central Election Authority chief Madhusudan Mistry said, “The list of delegates is ready for voting. From our side we are ready. The Congress Working Committee has to decide the date of the election.
After the defeat of the Congress in the last Lok Sabha elections, Rahul Gandhi resigned from the post of President taking moral responsibility and since then Sonia Gandhi has been serving as the interim President of the party.
Party sources say that most Congress leaders, including Sonia Gandhi, are of the opinion that in view of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Rahul Gandhi should take over as the president, although a ‘yes’ on this is awaited from Rahul Gandhi. He also says that in the next few days, the whole situation regarding the election of the President can be cleared. According to sources, some options and names are being discussed in case Rahul Gandhi does not become the President.
