Cyclone Formation in Bay of Bengal Triggers Coastal Alert Across Odisha and Andhra Pradesh

BHUBANESWAR: Meteorological monitoring authorities warned that a persistent deep atmospheric depression situated over the central Bay of Bengal is likely to intensify into a severe cyclonic storm. Tracking models indicate that the weather system is tracking steadily toward coastal belts, bringing expectations of heavy downpours, strong gale-force winds, and elevated oceanic swells.

In anticipation of potential disruptions, local administrations and emergency response teams across sensitive coastal districts have been placed on maximum standby. Public safety protocols have commenced to identify low-lying,waterlogged pockets and systematically move residents into designated community shelters stocked with emergency drinking water, dry rations, and medical provisions.

Maritime warnings have been issued advising fishing communities to suspend offshore voyages and secure seafaring vessels along harbor moorings. Technical engineering crews and civic task forces have been prepositioned to safeguard municipal electrical substations and telecommunications infrastructure, enabling swift restoration of essential services following the system’s landfall.
