On the occasion of Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar’s birth anniversary, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta inaugurated Water ATMs in the GP Block and Beriwala Bagh Block of the Shalimar Bagh assembly constituency. She stated that the Constitution given by Dr. Ambedkar guarantees every citizen the right to basic amenities, and this initiative is a meaningful step toward fulfilling that pledge on the ground. A total of 7 Water ATMs have been installed across Ward Numbers 55, 56, and 57

. Each Water ATM will provide 2,000 litres of purified water per hour using advanced 5-stage RO technology capable of purifying water up to 3,000 TDS, with round-the-clock monitoring ensured. Through a Water ATM card, every individual will receive 20 litres of clean drinking water free of cost every day. On this occasion, the Chief Minister paid floral tributes to Baba Saheb at the Dr. Ambedkar National Memorial and said that his life of struggle and his ideals continue to inspire the government’s service journey. She added that under PM Modi’s guidance, the government is committed to bringing positive change in the lives of Dalits, backward classes, and the underprivileged. She further emphasised that following Baba Saheb’s call to “educate yourself,” modern educational opportunities are being ensured for children from marginalised communities.
