Hanuman Chalisa was recited by members of some Hindu organizations near Qutub Minar. During this, Hindu organizations protested and demanded to change the name of Qutub Minar to Vishnu Stambh. An appeal has been made by the ‘United Hindu Front’ to name the Qutub Minar as Vishnu Stambh.
The United Hindu Front maintains that Qutub Minar is actually a Vishnu pillar. This tower was constructed by demolishing 27 Jain and Hindu temples.
Tight security arrangements were made by the administration as a precautionary measure and heavy security forces were deployed in the Qutub Minar complex. It is worth mentioning that the United Hindu Front has called for a Vishnu Stambh to be installed in the Qutub Minar complex by renovating and installing the idols of Jain and Hindu gods and goddesses with respect and allowing Hindus to worship here and Hanuman Chalisa in the premises. The recitation was done in the presence of sages and saints.
