India has supplied fuel to Sri Lanka under Line of Credit. The Indian High Commission in the capital Colombo said in a tweet that 36,000 metric tonnes of petrol and 40 thousand metric tonnes of diesel reached Sri Lanka last evening.
This help is being provided by India to Sri Lanka under the oil loan assistance of 500 million dollars. Sri Lanka is currently facing a huge economic crisis. There is acute shortage of food and fuel in the country.
In addition to the US 500 million US oil line of credit to Sri Lanka, India has also announced an additional US 1 billion line of credit to revive the sinking economy. The US 1 billion credit line aims to level fuel and food costs in the country.
