Dr Jitendra Singh, Union Minister for Space, emphasised that India is now setting global standards and playing a leading role in various sectors. Significant progress has been made in recent years in sectors such as space, biotechnology and nuclear energy, establishing India as a major player globally.
The unprecedented rate of innovation and growth in India’s space sector has seen the country make significant strides towards Space Docking Experiments (Spadex), Gaganyaan, Chandrayaan-4, and the upcoming Indian space stations. India’s revenue contribution in this sector has reached $157 million and 260 million euros, making India a reliable destination for satellite launches.
The success of Chandrayaan-3, which made India the first country to land on the south pole of the Moon, has strengthened India’s leading presence in space exploration.
In the nuclear energy sector too, Dr Singh shared that India has set a target of achieving 100 GW of nuclear power by 2047 with the aim of reducing carbon emissions by 50 per cent.
India’s growing global reputation and ambitious plans in the field of space and science will set the stage for forward-looking development in the coming decade, further strengthening the country’s leadership.
