Kargil Vijay Diwas being celebrated with pomp across the country

Kargil Vijay Diwas is being celebrated in the country today. The nation is remembering the war heroes and paying homage to the martyrs on Kargil Vijay Diwas. On this day, the army pulled out the Pakistani army-backed infiltrators from the Kargil hills.

The Kargil war lasted for more than sixty days and ended with India regaining control of its territories. The victory of Tiger Hill was a major achievement in this battle that lasted for sixty days. Indian soldiers fought the Kargil war in difficult conditions at an altitude of 18,000 feet.

On the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas, President Draupadi Murmu today saluted all the brave soldiers who laid down their lives for the defense of the country. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has saluted the brave sons of the country for their courage and valor in defending the motherland on Kargil Vijay Diwas. He said that Kargil Vijay Diwas is a symbol of the pride of Mother Bharati.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh paid homage to the martyrs who fought valiantly in the Kargil War at the National War Memorial in New Delhi this morning. The three service chiefs – Chief of Army Staff General Manoj Pandey, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral R Hari Kumar and Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal VR Choudhary also paid tributes to the martyrs at the National War Memorial.
