The famous Mughal Garden of Rashtrapati Bhavan will now be known as ‘Amrit Udyan’. This information was given in an official statement issued on Saturday. This garden opens for public once a year and people can visit this garden from 31st January.
The government last year renamed Delhi’s iconic ‘Rajpath’ as ’Kartavya Path’. The Center says that the change in the names of these things is an attempt to remove traces of colonial mindset. The statement said, “Rashtrapati Bhavan is home to a rich variety of gardens. Basically, they include East Lawn, Central Lawn, Long Garden and Circular Garden.
At this year’s garden festival, visitors will be able to see 12 unique varieties of specially grown ‘tulips’, along with many other attractions. The gardens will open to the general public on January 31, 2023 and will remain open till March 26, 2023, while it will be closed on every Monday.
