PM Modi addressed a large crowd in Dharapuram during his first rally in the state of Tamil Nadu before assembly elections. “India takes great pride in Tamil Nadu’s culture. One of the happiest moments of my life was when I was given the opportunity to speak a few words in Tamil, the world’s oldest language, at the United Nations,” he said.
PM Modi attacked the DMK and Congress, saying, “On the one hand, the NDA has our development agenda. The Congress and the DMK, on the other hand, have their own dynasty agendas. Their leaders’ speeches have nothing positive to say. They rarely discuss their own vision or work. They only denigrate others and spread lies.”
“Inspired by the ideals of MGR and Amma Jayalalithaa Ji, we want to empower Tamil Nadu’s farmers, poor, youth, and women. We want to improve connectivity and create opportunities in this area. Voting for NDA is a vote to address long-standing issues. “A prime example is how our alliance solved the decades-old demand of the Devendra Kula Vellalar community,” he said while addressing their alliance.
Earlier at an election rally in Kerala, PM Modi attacked the LDF over the gold smuggling scam and said it betrayed Kerala for a couple of pieces of gold. “Judas betrayed Lord Christ for a couple of pieces of silver. LDF has betrayed Kerala for a couple of pieces of gold,” he said. Modi alleged people are now seeing how the LDF and UDF misled them. “For a few years , the worst kept secret of Kerala politics was the friendly agreement of UDF and LDF. Now, the primary time voter of Kerala is asking — what’s this match fixing? People are seeing how UDF & LDF misled them.”
BJP National President JP Nadda is scheduled to carry public meetings in Assam while Home Minister Amit Shah are going to be in West Bengal today. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will address rallies in Assam.
