The government has made it clear that no charges will be levied on payment and transaction services through UPI. The Finance Ministry said in several tweet messages that UPI is a public interest digital service convenient for the common people and productively beneficial in the economy.
The Finance Ministry has clarified in view of the reports which have expressed the possibility of levying duty on UPI. The ministry has said that the concerns regarding the cost of service providers will be addressed in another way.
The ministry has said that the government had provided financial support for digital payment system last year, it has been announced to continue this year also so that its easy to use and economically profitable such mediums are promoted.
