NEW DELHI: To accelerate India’s digital capabilities, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a dedicated nationwide campaign to deliver Artificial Intelligence (AI) and advanced technical skills training to one crore youth within a single year. The structured skilling initiative is designed to align the emerging workforce with evolving industry requirements and prepare young professionals for high-demand digital careers.
Delivered across academic institutions, vocational skill centers, and specialized digital platforms, the program will cover foundational through advanced curricula. Practical instruction will focus on machine learning, data engineering, cloud infrastructure, and generative AI frameworks. A key priority of the initiative is ensuring equitable access to high-grade technical training for candidates in non-metro regions and rural districts.
The Prime Minister emphasized that India’s young population represents its greatest demographic dividend, capable of leading global tech transformations when backed by structured technical training. The mission is expected to unlock domestic employment opportunities across information technology, healthcare, manufacturing, agriculture, and financial services while reinforcing the broader startup ecosystem in collaboration with international technology leaders.
