PM celebrates Diwali with security forces in Kargil

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that the vision of New India is not only for the country but it is a mixture of sacrifice, love, compassion, talent, courage, valor and peace. Interacting with the Armed Forces in Kargil, Shri Modi said that many civilizations have developed and died across the world, but Indian civilization has always revived after all possible challenges. He said that a nation becomes immortal when the brave soldiers of that country believe in themselves.

Equating patriotism with devotion to God, the Prime Minister appreciated the armed forces of the country. He said that from the victory land of Kargil, he is wishing the world and the countrymen a very Happy Diwali. The Prime Minister said that Diwali means the festival of the end of terror and Kargil has made this possible. Shri Modi said that the existence of terror was destroyed by the security forces on the occasion of Diwali in Kargil. The Prime Minister appreciated the incomparable valor of the Army and said that the nation takes pride when the heads of its soldiers are as high as the Himalayas.

Modi said that today the world is looking towards India’s growing power and strength. The Prime Minister said that a step forward from imperialism has become a new symbol of the Navy. He said that the Navy emblem has now become a symbol of the bravery of Chhatrapati Shivaji. Shri Modi emphasized that the nation is breaking the chains of colonialism and renaming Rajpath as Kartavya Path symbolizes this resolve. He said that India has always considered war as the last option and propagated peace in the world. He said that if anyone dares to look at India with evil eyes, then the three armed forces of the country will give a befitting reply.

The Prime Minister said that from the BrahMos supersonic missile to the Tejas fighter jet, there are some examples of India’s new power. He said that indigenous technology is protecting the country and INS at sea. Vikrant, Arihant in the deep sea and Tejas in the sky are engaged in security work. He said that on one hand India’s imports have been low, while on the other hand Vocal for Local is progressing.

The Prime Minister said that this is indeed a new awakening in the nature of Indians. The Prime Minister congratulated the Armed Forces for taking a pledge to become self-reliant. He said that when jawans fight with indigenous weapons, they not only feel proud, but they get a new experience of defeating the enemies. Shri Modi said that inclusion of women officers in permanent commission is important for the development of New India and this is proving to be a boon for the armed forces of the country.
