Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who recently returned from France after concluding his successful visit, began the second leg of his two-nation visit. He arrived in Washington DC in the wee hours of Thursday and will participate in important bilateral talks with US President Donald Trump. On his arrival in Washington, the Prime Minister was received by Indian Ambassador Vinay Mohan Kwatra and other senior officials.
Meanwhile, members of the Indian community also gathered outside Blair House in Washington DC to give a rousing welcome to Prime Minister Modi despite the harsh winter conditions. It is notable that Prime Minister Modi is one of the prominent world leaders to meet the US President after his recent swearing-in.
Ahead of the visit, Prime Minister Modi emphasised that his visit to the US is to further strengthen the successful cooperative relationship established between India and the US in the first phase. He said that during this visit, there is an opportunity to take the partnership between the two countries to new heights, through which the cooperation between them can become even deeper and richer.
