NEW DELHI: In the aftermath of the severe building collapse in Delhi’s Satya Niketan area, significant administrative measures have been initiated across the capital. In direct response to the tragic incident, the Chief Minister of Delhi has issued a key policy announcement concerning five-storey buildings operating throughout the city, affirming that construction regulations and structural safety standards will be strictly monitored.
The Chief Minister directed civic and administrative bodies to exercise vigilant oversight regarding multi-storey buildings constructed in violation of approved plans and prescribed height norms. The primary objective behind the announcement is to identify non-compliant and risky structures within residential localities to avert future structural failures and protect public safety.
Under the declared directives, relevant municipal authorities have been instructed to conduct safety assessments of existing five-storey properties and execute necessary statutory actions against identified irregularities. The Chief Minister maintained that citizen safety remains paramount, stating that lapses in structural compliances will not be tolerated.
