Separatism ends in Kashmir, PM Modi’s policies are a big success: Amit Shah

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday announced that two organisations of the Hurriyat Conference, the Jammu and Kashmir People’s Movement (JKPM) and the Democratic Political Movement, have decided to sever all ties with separatism. He said separatism in Kashmir is now history and urged all groups to come forward and end separatism once and for all.

The Home Minister described the announcement as a major victory for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of building a developed, peaceful and integrated India.

Writing on social media platform X, Amit Shah said, “Separatism in Kashmir is history. The integration policies of the Modi government have ended separatism from Jammu and Kashmir. Two organisations associated with the Hurriyat have announced to sever all ties with separatism. I welcome this step towards strengthening India’s unity and urge all such groups to come forward and end separatism once and for all.”

He further wrote, “This is a big victory of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of building a developed, peaceful and integrated India.”

Earlier on February 5, during a high-level review meeting on the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir in New Delhi, Amit Shah said that the central government led by Prime Minister Modi is committed to completely eliminate terrorism from Jammu and Kashmir. He said that due to the continuous and coordinated efforts of the Modi government, the ecosystem of terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir has weakened significantly. He emphasized the Modi government’s policy of zero tolerance against terrorism to achieve the goal of terrorism-free Jammu and Kashmir.
