Maha Kumbh-2025 has opened up new possibilities of spiritual tourism in Uttar Pradesh. During this mega event, the Uttar Pradesh government has developed five major spiritual corridors. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath mentioned these corridors while thanking police personnel, sanitation workers, health workers, boatmen, media persons and transport drivers and operators during his visit to Prayagraj. Through these corridors, devotees will be able to easily travel to various religious places across the state, which will give new impetus to spiritual tourism.
There are five major spiritual corridors:
- Prayag-Vindhyachal-Kashi Corridor: Through this corridor, devotees will be able to travel from Prayagraj to Vindhyachal Devidham and then to Kashi (Varanasi). This route will be the main route for Shakti and Shiva worship.
- Prayagraj-Ayodhya-Gorakhpur Corridor: This corridor is associated with Lord Rama and Gorakhnath tradition. Devotees will be able to take a dip in the Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj, visit Lat Hanuman, Akshayvat, Saraswati Koop and then go to Ayodhya to see Ramlala. After Ayodhya, devotees will be able to go to Gorakhpur and pay obeisance at the Gorakhnath temple.
- Prayagraj-Lucknow-Naimisharanya Corridor: This route will take the devotees to Naimisharanya Dham via Lucknow. It is one of the 88 Mahatirthas of Hinduism and is famous as the place of penance of 88 thousand sages.
- Prayagraj-Rajapur (Banda)-Chitrakoot Corridor: This route is associated with the exile of Lord Rama. Devotees will be able to reach Chitrakoot Dham, where there are famous religious places like Kamadgiri Mountain, Ramghat and Hanuman Dhara. Rajapur is the birthplace of Goswami Tulsidas.
- Prayagraj-Mathura-Vrindavan-Shuktirtha (via Bundelkhand Expressway): Under this corridor, devotees will be able to travel to Mathura-Vrindavan and then Shuktirtha via Bundelkhand Expressway. It is famous as the place of penance of Lord Krishna and Maharishi Shukracharya.
