The WHO has said that governments of all countries should assess COVID prevention measures and accelerate vaccination to deal with the new variant Omicron. However, the organization said it was too early to say how effective the existing vaccines would be over the new variants.

This can have a profound effect on the spread of the Kovid epidemic and now is the right time to control it before more people get infected. He said that for this all countries will have to increase surveillance, testing and sequencing.

Mike Ryan, the World Health Organization’s emergency director, said that due to the virus being more contagious, it would take a double effort to stop its spread.
