NEW DELHI: India’s Commonwealth Games 2026 medalists received a formal reception in New Delhi following their return to the country. Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya felicitated the athletes during a ceremony and handed over official monetary rewards recognizing their achievements. Under the sports ministry’s policy framework, gold medalists were awarded ₹30 lakh, silver medalists received ₹20 lakh, and bronze medalists were presented with ₹10 lakh.

The felicitation honored athletes across multiple disciplines, including weightlifting, boxing, judo, and para-athletics. Addressing the gathering, the Sports Minister stated that the contingent’s achievements brought pride to the entire nation. He attributed the success to the dedication of the athletes, the guidance of coaching staff, and sustained investments in foundational sports infrastructure that help showcase grassroots talent on international platforms.

Top medal-winning athletes attended the event alongside sports administrators. Dr. Mandaviya encouraged the athletes to engage with young students across schools and colleges to promote sports participation. He also commended athletes who narrowly missed podium finishes, urging them to focus their preparations on upcoming international competitions.
