DUBAI: The International Cricket Council (ICC) conferred its ‘Player of the Month’ honors on Indian cricketers across both men’s and women’s categories. Top-order batter Shubman Gill captured the award in the men’s division, while dynamic opener Shafali Verma earned the recognition in the women’s category, sealing a dual sweep for Indian cricket.
Gill earned the accolade following a consistent scoring run in international competition, producing match-defining performances that anchored key team victories. In the women’s category, Shafali Verma drew top voting shares on the strength of her aggressive strokeplay, reliable run production, and decisive match impacts across international assignments.
Securing both the men’s and women’s honors within the same evaluation window underscores the depth and current competitive strength of the national squads. The global accolades serve as significant personal milestones for both players as they prepare for upcoming fixtures on the international calendar.
