A 16-member team has been selected for the first match of the IDFC First Bank Test series against Bangladesh. This Test series marks the beginning of India’s international home season for 2024-25. India will also play three T20 matches against Bangladesh, with the team for the remaining two matches to be selected later.
The BCCI men’s selection committee has announced the team. Wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant has made a comeback in the team announced for the first Test against Bangladesh. Pant last played a Test match in December 2022. However, in the recent Duleep Trophy 2024, this wicketkeeper-batsman performed brilliantly both behind the stumps and with the bat.
Apart from Pant, fast bowlers Akashdeep and Yash Dayal have also benefited from their excellent performance in the Duleep Trophy and have been selected in the team.
