In a bizarre turn of events, Pakistan’s has announced that it will suspend all the bilateral trade ties with India. The announcement happened as a result of the recent scrapping of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir.

As an immediate impact of the constitutional change in India, Pakistan has shown its anger by calling its ambassador back from India. Moreover, the Indian ambassador to Pakistan has been expelled.

“We will call back our ambassador from Delhi and send back their envoy”, foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi announced in televised comments.
The fallout occurred after Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan had a discussion with the National Security Council in Islamabad.

During the meeting, Islamabad decided to review the bilateral arrangements with India. Also, Islamabad will take Kashmir issue to the U.N. Security Council.
On the Indian side, the former Indian foreign minister Salman Khurshid commented that “No impact of Pakistan decision on India. It is a short-sighted decision, which is going to affect them badly, not us,” he said.

The Indian government on Monday revoked Article 370 which gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir and proposed that the state be bifurcated into two union territories, Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh.
