Aam Aadmi Party has won 131 seats, Bharatiya Janata Party 99 and Congress seven seats in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi election results declared so far. According to the State Election Commission, the Aam Aadmi Party is leading in three other seats, BJP four and Congress three.

BJP’s Delhi unit president Adesh Gupta said, “Despite 15 years of anti-incumbency wave, our performance is better. We worked for the welfare of the people of Delhi in the municipal corporations, but maybe some people are not happy. However, there is no resentment against the BJP.

The counting of votes for the Delhi Municipal Corporation elections began on Wednesday morning amid tight security arrangements. The polling for 250 wards of the MCD was held on December 4, in which the fate of 1,349 candidates is at stake. This time there was 50.48 percent voting in the election.
