In a breathtaking contest at Eden Gardens, Lucknow Super Giants defeated Kolkata Knight Riders by 3 wickets in IPL 2026. Chasing 182, LSG got off to a steady start with Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram adding 41 runs for the first wicket, but Vaibhav Arora dramatically sent both openers back within three deliveries to leave LSG reeling.
Captain Rishabh Pant and Nicholas Pooran also failed to make a significant impact. However, Ayush Badoni held the innings together with a superb 54 off 34 balls, hitting 7 fours and 2 sixes. Then, 21-year-old Mukul Choudhary took centre stage in the final overs, smashing an unbeaten 54 off just 27 balls including 7 sixes to seal a memorable victory.
With 14 runs needed off the last over from Vaibhav Arora, Mukul hit two sixes to crush KKR’s hopes and guide LSG home. For KKR, Vaibhav Arora and Anukul Roy took two wickets each, while Narine and Cameron Green picked up one each.
Earlier, KKR posted 181 for 4 in 20 overs. Ajinkya Rahane scored 41 and Angkrish Raghuvanshi contributed 45, adding 84 for the second wicket. Cameron Green remained unbeaten on 32 and Rovman Powell on 39, sharing an unbroken 70-run stand off 40 balls. This was KKR’s third consecutive defeat this season while LSG registered their second win of IPL 2026.
