Defence Minister Rajnath Singh arrived in his parliamentary constituency of Lucknow on Saturday for a three-day visit packed with engagements. In the evening, he attended a programme at Tanki Wala Park in Gomti Nagar, after which he honoured war heroes and brave women at the Surya Auditorium in the Cantonment area. He then participated in the Smritika War Memorial and Light and Sound Show.
Earlier in the day, Rajnath Singh and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav jointly inaugurated the Unnat Krishi Mahotsav in Raisen. Running from April 11 to 13, the initiative was conceived by Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan with the goal of guiding farmers from lab to field and seed to market.
The festival will offer farmers access to modern farming techniques, hands-on training, live demonstrations, and market linkage opportunities, helping them adopt the latest agricultural innovations. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari will attend the closing ceremony on April 13, when an agriculture roadmap for Raisen, Vidisha, and Sehore will also be released.
Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said this festival will be a game changer for farmers and will spark a new wave of transformation in Indian agriculture. The event is expected to play a significant role in modernising farming practices across the region.
