US President Donald Trump’s campaign has filed lawsuits to stop the counting of votes in Georgia, Michigan and Pennsylvania. His campaign has filed for re-counting in Wisconsin. After losing in three key states – Arizona, Wisconsin and Michigan, previously held by the Republicans – Trump’s re-election campaign decided to file multiple lawsuits against the vote-counting process.

Trump’s campaign and the Georgia Republican Party have filed a lawsuit against the Chatham County Board of Elections asking an order for the county to secure and account for ballots received after 7 pm on election day.

In Pennsylvania, his campaign is set to file a lawsuit over poll watchers and voter ID laws amid the tense finish of the 2020 US presidential elections.

“Bad things are happening in Pennsylvania. Democrats are scheming to disenfranchise and dilute Republican votes. President Trump and his team are fighting to put a stop to it,” Justin Clark, Trump’s deputy campaign manager said in a statement.

In Michigan, the Trump campaign filed a lawsuit demanding to stop counting until meaningful access is granted to them. Ballots are being counted as the presidential race between Trump and Democratic rival Joe Biden is poised for a photo-finish. Trump campaign alleged that Michigan had not allowed the president’s team to observe counting in “numerous” locations.

In Wisconsin, where US media says Joe Biden has won, the Trump campaign alleged that there had been irregularities in “several” Wisconsin counties. The Trump campaign said it had “serious doubts” about the validity of the results.

As Trump and Biden are neck and neck across the rest of the US in electoral votes, the deciding states have come down to North Carolina, Nevada, Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.
