Talks for a bailout package between Pakistan and the International Monetary Fund ended without any agreement on Thursday. Pakistan was in talks with the IMF for a $6.5 billion package with the organization and it ended without any result. This is a big blow to the people of Pakistan.
However, both sides have agreed that those measures will be implemented through which a deal can be made to avoid bankruptcy. Talks with the IMF have ended at a time when its foreign exchange reserves have gone below three billion dollars.
IMF does not want to blindly trust the country. But this time very strict conditions were also put in front of Pakistan from the side of the organization. To end the deadlock, talks were also held between PM Shehbaz and Nathan Porter via conference link. Dar also refused to appear before the media after this latest development. Dar had promised that he would share a good news with the country on Thursday and it did not happen.
