US Vice President JD Vance today began his four-day visit to India in New Delhi, amid elaborate security arrangements and special traffic management measures in the capital.
Vance, his wife Usha Vance and three children – Evan, Vivek and Mirabel – entered the Palam airport at 10 am, where they were formally welcomed by Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav. In the early moments of the visit, he showed his respect for Indian culture by visiting the Swaminarayan Akshardham Temple.
In the evening, Vice President Vance will hold important bilateral talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The meeting is expected to cover a wide range of trade relations, economic policies, regional security scenario and strategic ties between the two countries.
During the visit, the Vance family will also visit historical places like Jaipur and Agra, which will provide an opportunity to understand India’s cultural heritage closely. Prime Minister Modi will host a banquet for the Vance couple in the evening, which will prove to be an important step in further strengthening the friendly relations between the two countries.
