Prime Minister Narendra Modi will chair the 13th BRICS summit today. This conference is being organized through virtual medium. This year India is chairing the BRICS organization. BRICS countries include Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa.

These include reforming the multilateral system, combating terrorism, use of digital and technological tools to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals and promoting people-to-people exchanges. The summit assumes significance in view of the latest developments in Afghanistan.

He also said that the situation in Afghanistan is a matter of concern for India as the Taliban-led government is pro-Pakistan.
