Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav and Bangladesh Railway Minister Mohammad Nurul Islam Sujon flagged off Mithali Express running between New Jalpaiguri and Dhaka via video conference today.
It is because of the deep friendship between the two countries that rapid development work is taking place at all levels. Vaishnav said that Mithali Express will prove to be a milestone in further deepening the friendship between the two countries.
Mithali Express is the third passenger train running between Bangladesh and India. Mithali Express from New Jalpaiguri Junction will run twice a week on Sundays and Wednesdays and from Dhaka Cantonment on every Monday and Thursday.
