Twelve people were killed and three were injured when a private bus fell into a deep gorge near Jangla village in Himachal Pradesh’s Kullu district this morning. District Magistrate and rescue teams have reached the spot and engaged in rescue and relief work. The injured have been rushed to a nearby hospital.
Expressing grief over the accident, Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur has asked to give Rs 5 lakh each to the next of kin of the deceased and Rs 15,000 each to the injured. Shri Thakur said that the injured would be given free treatment.
President Ram Nath Kovind has condoled the death of several people, including students, in a bus accident in Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh. He also wished the injured a speedy recovery.
