The International Monetary Fund has agreed to provide an additional $2 billion to 900 million dollars over the next four years to deal with the severe economic crisis and corruption in Sri Lanka. Deaths due to road accidents have come down by 37 per cent in the national capital in the last ten years. However, the hit and run cases in the city have increased to 59 per cent. In 2020 it was 51 percent. According to the Delhi Transport Department’s report on road accident deaths, there were 708 hit-and-run cases in 2021. Most of the pedestrians died in these accidents. Three people have been arrested for raping a 20-year-old girl in a factory under Link Road police station area of Ghaziabad district in Uttar Pradesh. Police said on Thursday that the incident took place on August 28, but it came to light on Wednesday evening when the victim narrated her ordeal to her mother who lodged an FIR against the three youths at the police station. Police said the accused have been identified as Lucky, Sanjay and Rajendra. Swatantra Singh said that the accused were arrested only a few hours after the FIR was registered.
