Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone of Noida International Airport in Jewar, Uttar Pradesh today. Its development is in line with the Prime Minister’s vision of enhancing connectivity and creating a state-of-the-art aviation sector. The new airport at Jewar will play a vital role in attracting large investments, accelerating the pace of industrial growth and taking local products to the national and international markets.

The first phase of the airport is being developed at a cost of more than ten thousand crore rupees. This airport will be a major gateway to North India. It will have a multi-modal transport hub including a railway station, bus service and private parking. The airport will be widely connected by road, rail and metro.

This will be the second international airport after Indira Gandhi International Airport in the National Capital Territory of Delhi. Passengers in and around Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, Aligarh, Agra, Faridabad and nearby will be benefited by this. With this, Delhi will become the first city in the country to have three airports within a radius of 70 km. For the convenience of the passengers, Noida and Delhi will be connected through seamless metro service.
