The controversy regarding the inauguration of the new building of Parliament House has not stopped yet. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the new Parliament building on Sunday, 28 May. The opposition is calling for democracy and saying that it should be inaugurated by the President.

With this demand, the opposition has boycotted the inauguration ceremony. Meanwhile, a petition was also filed in the Supreme Court. In this petition, it was demanded that the inauguration of the new building of Parliament should be done by the President only. The Supreme Court has dismissed this petition and also raised questions on the intention of the petitioner.

The Supreme Court told the petitioner, ‘Consider it a matter of pride that we are not imposing a fine on you.’ After the Supreme Court’s remarks, the lawyer referred to other provisions of the Constitution. He talked about the powers given to the President. He said, the President is the head of the institution of Parliament. He alone has the right to call the session.
