Karnataka Legislative Council Deputy Chairman SL Dharmegowda was found dead on the railroad near Kadur, Chikkamagaluru, Karnataka, on Tuesday morning. A suicide note has also been found along with the body.
Dharmegowda’s body was taken to the Shimoga government hospital for further examination.
IGP West said, “The matter is under investigation. There was a death note recovered from the site but cannot give out details of what’s in it.”
JDS leader and former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda said, “It is disturbing to hear about the suicide of Deputy Speaker of the State Legislative Council and JDS leader SL Dharmegowda. He was a guy who was cool and respectable. It is a state deficit.”
